Isobel has lived in Caversham for over 30 years and been a councillor serving her community for 20 years. She is re-standing this May in Caversham Heights in the Local Elections through popular demand.
She is proud of her achievements which include helping deliver a much needed primary school in Caversham Heights ward, as well as helping refurbish/rebuild the dilapidated pavilion and making Mapledurham Playing Fields accessible for all. She worked tirelessly for Kidmore Road residents, holding Thames Water to account, working with Reading Buses and Highways to get suitable temporary bus stops and signage.
More recently she and Saadia Saadat have been campaigning with local families, the Cub Scouts and others to get the Council to make Albert Road Recreation Ground accessible to all. Pushing for practical changes that protect the beautiful trees and retain the well-loved play equipment.
She has helped individual residents with issues such as council tax overcharging, concessionary bus pass renewals, planning applications, missed bins, pot holes, road resurfacing, road safety issues, school admissions, housing problems, alcohol addiction, vandalism and helping adults suffering mental health crises get urgent professional help.
Outside her councillor role she has a full-time job as a comms consultant working in the built environment. Do visit her Facebook page to hear some of the work she is doing.
